Lost at Sea 03:09
I've been a drift for too many years All the markers have now disappeared There's nothing but the sea and sky But the wind whispers I'll see a sign I use to make waves, now I make haste Where I go now, the sea says there's no telling Time use to be a good friend of mine Now that friend won't give me the time I'm in desperate need for a port of call But the wind swears I'm not alone I use to make waves, now I make haste Where I go now, the sea says there's no telling

All the stars get all caught up in the light That is why I shun the limelight I'd prefer the dark side of the road A road that you'll never know A road that you'll never know So I'll sing my songs and slip outta sight And have a splash of scotch on ice Till the morning pulls me back out on the road A road that you'll never know A road that you'll never know

Lovers Still 02:44
All of this time my dear, you've been praying praying But like Christ my dear, there's no saving saving So will you lie my dear, with this stranger stranger Maybe in time my dear, you'll become lovers lovers Time is a cruel mistress, that keeps taking taking You no longer recognize, your own face face So will you lie my dear, with this stranger stranger Maybe this time my dear, we'll again become lovers lovers Come into me my love, she moans softly Come into me my love, she moans softly Come into me my love, she moans softly

Traffic Stop 04:22
Hey boy, let me see your hands You got nothing to hide you got nothing to fear from my hand This happens, more than you know Your rolling the dice when your rolling outside the ghetto So hey boy, ain't gonna say it again Put your hands on the wheel or I'll claim self-defence What would happen, If our rolls where reversed Then the shots rang out just like the times before You say traffic stop, I say road block You say self-defence, I say what evidence You put him in the ground, to keep him from talking out You shrug and say, their born to die that way There's a time and a place, for justice And that time and place, is now There's a time and a place, for justice And that time and place, is now There's a time and a place, for justice And that time and place, is now

about

This album is a return to my roots. Just picking & singing like my first album "Songs From The Sink," recorded on a 4-track. But this was recorded on 1" tape, so it's more hi-fi per-say. DIg!

about

Shawn Irwin Austin, Texas

Hello, I'm a singer/songwriter from the Big Timber. My music is my therapy, or more like turning piss into lemonade. My lyrics read like a secret diary exposed by a scorn lover. Tainted love aside, there are other tales of truckers, ghosts, and a search for a calm place to ride out the storm. I may be strange, but I think that's what makes me unique. Listen and judge for yourself. ... more
